The Queen receives Platinum Jubilee gift from Cabinet Ministers

Must Read

The Queen has received a bespoke gift from Cabinet Ministers to mark her remarkable 70 years of service.

As has been the tradition in previous jubilees, The Queen has received a bespoke gift from cabinet ministers to mark her remarkable 70 years of service.

Over the past seven decades, the Queen has been served by fourteen people, from Winston Churchill to current Prime Minister Boris Johnson. James Callaghan’s Cabinet marked the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977 by presenting her with a silver coffeepot.

Then, in 2002, for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, Queen received a silver gilt plaque from her cabinet ministers, which was engraved with their signatures.

To commemorate Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, a hand-painted enamel on copper music box commissioned from Halcyon Days has been presented.

100 percent handmade in England, finished in a platinum setting, when opened the musical movement reproduces Handel’s ‘Hallelujah’. A symbol of praise, this gift honors your exemplary service and phenomenal achievements.

The case uniquely features 10 Downing Street at the top and a miniature portrait of Her Majesty’s fourteen Prime Ministers from 1952 on the sides. These portraits are surrounded by the same shade of yellow found on the walls of the Staircase at Number 10, which are famous for displaying photographs of all the British Prime Ministers.

On the inner lid, an inscription can be found that includes the names of the Cabinet as a symbolic gesture to illustrate their unwavering admiration and respect for their dedication and service to their people and their beloved Commonwealth.

The Queen‘s Platinum Jubilee marks a symbolic moment in our nation’s history, and this bespoke music box, gifted by members of the Cabinet, serves to commemorate the celebrations that will remain etched in our memories.
