Through the Trolebús and Trolebús Elevado, transportation options will be created between Chalco and Santa Martha, to facilitate the mobility of people between the State of Mexico and Mexico City.
The head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, reported that this year Santa Martha will connect with the Autonomous University of Mexico City (UACM) through the Trolleybus.
“The Elevated Trolleybus goes from Constitución de 17 to the UACM, and we are going to go from the UACM to Santa Marta passing through the La Concordia Bridge.
“If you come from Chalco on the Trolleybus, you will have two options: either make the transfer to Line A of the Metro or continue towards the Elevated Trolleybus and – if you want to use the Metro – get to Constitución from (19)17, to Line 8”, explained Sheinbaum.
In Santa Martha, a station for the Trolleybus will be expanded, while in Line A of the Metro trains will be added and the tracks that connect Pantitlán with La Paz will be corrected.
“At this moment in Santa Marta there is already saturation of the city’s Metro. So, they are two very good options to communicate from the east to the west or to the north of the city, or to the Mexico City Metro network”, indicated the president.
This year, two connections of the Elevated Trolleybus to Mixcoac, in the Benito Juárez mayor’s office, will also be tendered.
These public transport expansions are planned to be ready in 2023, added the head of government.
“They are metropolitan mobility alternatives that allow the inhabitants of the east to have options to get to different places in the city,” he said.
