The second date of group A is set for Friday, November 25
The first two games of group A of the Qatar 2022 World Cup have already been played and the bad news is for the host team, which could not add points or goals and is in last place in the table.
The opposite case is that of Ecuador, the winner of Qatar. Those led by Gustavo Alfaro won in the opening match with a brace from Enner Valencia, who had to leave the field before the final whistle due to severe pain in his leg.
But, in addition, the South American team achieved a unique milestone in the history of the FIFA World Cup: it was the first country to beat the World Cup organizer in the first game.
On the other hand, the Netherlands proved to be highly effective, because of the three shots they had during their match against Senegal, they ended up putting two on goal that represented the final result.
The goals went to Cody Gakpo and Davy Klaassen in minutes 84′ and 90+9′ respectively. The first of them set a record by becoming the second youngest player to score for the Netherlands, aged 23 years and 198 days.
Thus, Ecuador and the Netherlands are tied for first place with 3 points and two goals for each. Third and fourth place are divided between Senegal and Qatar with the same record: 1 game lost and 2 goals against.
