President of Mexico confirms that Belinda will go to trial for tax evasion

A court order from December 2021 stated that the singer had 30 days to appear or her case would go to court.

When Christian Nodal announced a few weeks ago that his sentimental relationship with the singer Belinda had come to an end , several versions of the possible causes that led the artists to cancel their engagement and end their courtship emerged.

However, the one that gained strength pointed out that the Mexican discovered that the interpreter of “Luz singravida” had lied to him about money.

Supposedly, Belinda borrowed four million dollars from her boyfriend to pay off a debt with the Tax Administration Service in Mexico (SAT), but Nodal discovered that he really owed less than $500,000.

And although neither of them has confirmed or denied the fact so far, everything seems to indicate that it was because of that, since the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, confirmed that the singer has a tax debt.

Belinda owes thousands of dollars to the SAT

During a press conference this Friday , the president said that Belinda has a debt of 7.2 million Mexican pesos (about 350,000 dollars) before the SAT, according to an edict published in December in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF).

“About two days ago, a singer Belinda came out, and she has a trial at the SAT and she is defending it, but we are not going to go over it,” López Obrador clarified, referring to the fact that in previous mandates they arrested celebrities with debts tax.

For this reason, he insisted that ” an artist may have problems with the SAT, but it will never be the same as the large corporations that dominated, that had the government kidnapped and that did not pay taxes.”

Belinda supported AMLO in his 2018 presidential race, when she sang at his closing campaign at the Azteca Stadium, while his brother, Ignacio Peregrín, was a candidate for the ruling party’s deputy in the 2021 elections.
