US President Joe Biden agreed with French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, with whom he had a phone call, to continue supporting Ukraine’s efforts to defend itself from Russian aggression.

As reported this Sunday by the White House in a brief statement, the four leaders spoke by phone to discuss the current situation of Russia’s war against Ukraine and discussed issues such as the situation at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, controlled since last March by the Russian troops.

The four agreed on the need to “avoid military operations near the plant” and the importance of a team from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) visiting “as soon as possible to determine the status of security systems.” .

In addition, they discussed ongoing negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program, the need to strengthen support for partners in the Middle East region, and joint efforts to deter and limit Iran’s destabilizing regional activities.
