Johnny Depp surprises with his character of Louis XV for his new movie

The film, which represents the return of Johnny Depp to the cinema after the trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard, does not yet have a release date, is in the post-production stage and is expected to be released in mid-2023.

A new photo showing Johnny Depp transformed into Louis XV for his new movie was revealed on Tuesday; in it you can see a realistic costume and makeup. In the image shown today you can see his face in front of him in a more sober makeup, standing holding a scepter.

“(Shooting took) 11 weeks in locations including the Palace of Versailles and other castles in the Paris region, as well as in the studio,” Deadline wrote about the making of the film.

The production focuses on the story of ‘Jeanne du Barry’, the last royal mistress of Louis XV at the court of Versailles, who was born the illegitimate daughter of a seamstress, but used her intelligence and beauty to rise to high society in Paris of the 18th century, generating a scandal within the court.

Jeanne du Barry became Louis XV’s favorite companion and they fell madly in love.

The film is directed by Maïwenn who also plays the lead role of Jeanne du Barry and co-wrote the screenplay with Teddy Lussi-Modeste. This will be his sixth feature film, although he has already won the Jury Prize at Cannes 2011 for ‘Polisse’.

In August, the first image of Johnny Depp characterized as Louis XV was revealed in which a loaded makeup, hat and wig according to the time were revealed, however, his full face was not shown.
