How to Add Friends in Pokémon United

Must Read

When you want to play together on modern consoles, you use the friends list. Nintendo has added this feature to the Switch through Nintendo Online, and it’s pretty cool. When you have added a friend in NSO, you can play with them and also see what games they are playing. And if you want to add new people, you can do that too. The new Switch title, Pokémon Unite, makes it very easy for you. When you want to add friends in Pokémon Unite, this is what you have to do.

How to add friends in Pokémon Unite

For some reason, Nintendo and the developers of this new MOBA didn’t think of adding NSO friend lists directly into the game. Of course, you don’t have to mess with those absurdly long Friend IDs, but you do have to re-add the friends you already have in Pokémon Unite. It’s a strange oversight, but maybe there’s a technical reason for it. In any case, this is what to do.

To get started, on the main Pokémon Unite screen, press X to bring up the menu. Next, you have to go to the Friends tab. When you get there, there is an option to search for your friends. You have to put the name in the game of a player and add them as a friend through a request. When you select their tag, click the option to send them a request. You can also return to this menu to see your incoming requests by pressing the + button.

You can also tap the Minus button to add someone from your existing NSO list to your list in Unite. The friends you add need to be online and on the Switch platform for you to add them this way.

However, this is not the only thing you can do in the game. When you play with your teammates, you get into a very intense 5v5 competition. You can quit the game if you feel too overwhelmed. You can leave a match at any time. If you feel overwhelmed by the incessant voice chat, consider turning off voice chat in Pokémon Unite. Also, make sure to grab that free Zeroara while you can.
