A probable attack occurred around 5 a.m. on the night of Wednesday April 6 to Thursday April 7 in Canale-di-Verde, a village in the community of communes of Oriente in Haute-Corse, in the hamlet of Pastricciale.
A detached house was targeted. The fire was widespread on the ground floor when the firefighters intervened and the roof was blown. On the house, an inscription “Per Yvan” was discovered but at this time the attack has not been claimed.
No casualties were reported. The owners use this house as a second home, they live on the mainland, in the Paris region.
The Bastia public prosecutor’s office cannot be reached at the moment, an investigation should be opened to determine the precise causes of the fire.
On February 24, a failed attack targeted a second home located in the same hamlet of Pastricciale.
A gas canister coupled with an explosive device that had not worked had been discovered. A n investigation for “attempt to destroy property belonging to others by dangerous means” had been opened and entrusted to the gendarmes of the research section.
