2022 opens very positively for the Italian group, which posted a turnover of 495.8 million euros over the first 3 months of the year, up 15.7% (at current exchange rates) compared to 2021.
The increase in turnover is based on organic growth of 8.8% and on acquisitions for 5.2%. Performances were good in all regions, but more particularly in the Americas – which recorded the strongest organic growth – and in Europe, Middle East and Africa where sales were up 9.4%. Amplifon continued to expand its network in the 1 st quarter with 58 acquisitions of hearing centers in France, Germany and China (about twenty takeovers), for a total amount of nearly 24 million euros. The brand now has 140 points of sale in the latter country.
The company maintains its outlook for 2022: it anticipates market growth of 4 to 5%, with the release of pent-up demand during the health crisis more than offsetting the drop in sales in France, compared to 2021, the year of the launch of the 100% healthy . As Amplifon has no commercial activity in Russia or Ukraine, no negative impact is expected on this side. “The outlook for the hearing aid market is positive and the excellent results achieved during this quarter allow us to look with optimism to both the rest of the year and the medium-term growth forecasts for our company” , said Enrico Vita, CEO of Amplifon.
