Because GR Corolla , whose reveal is scheduled for the night between Thursday 31 March and Friday 1 April , will not be sold either in Italy or in Europe. At least for now.
FORCE 4 : The teaser video accompanying the GR Corolla world premiere announcement shows the large front brake air duct – next to which is the GR badge -, plus a red GR branded brake caliper under a rim multi-spoke glossy black . The embossed ” GR-Four ” logo on the side skirt suggests – obviously – the use of the GR Yaris all-wheel drive system , with limited -slip differentials on both the front and rear axles, combined with a electronically controlled center differential .
GR-MATIC : On the Japanese and North American market from 2023 , the Toyota GR Corolla is expected to be powered by the same 1.6-liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine as the GR Yaris. The power could also be higher than the 261 HP of the little sister (which is already half a Corolla, the rear half): a previous teaser showed the climate dials and the figures 2, 6 and 8, i.e. the same as the GR Yaris from 268 hp for sale in Japan. It also seems that the only transmission option will be an automatic transmission , a solution that the GR Yaris itself is also developing on itself.
