On April 26, the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) announced its alliance with TravelX, to promote the use of technologyblockchain in air transport in Latin America and the Caribbean.

TravelX is a pioneering company in the development of blockchain , in charge of creating a distribution protocol based on blockchain to improve the airline industry, offering safer, more efficient and profitable trips.

According to the press release, thanks to this association, several air transport companies in Latin America and the Caribbean will be able to transform the way they distribute their products, turning them into non-fungible tokens (NFT), which offer greater security and traceability for Your clients.

TravelX speeds up distribution processes with blockchain

TravelX’s goal is to speed up the distribution and operation processes of airlines through the use of blockchain , reducing operational costs and improving the customer experience.

Juan Pablo Lafosse, CEO of TravelX, said that they were excited to land in the air transport market in Latin America and the Caribbean, since their intention when creating the company was to be able to help promote the tourism industry worldwide, through the use of blockchain , as they are doing in Europe.

“We created TravelX because we are convinced that the maturity reached by blockchain technology will help the evolution of the tourism industry. As members of ALTA we will be able to work together with its members to achieve this goal together”.

ALTA may become the first aviation organization with blockchain

José Ricardo Botelho, executive director and CEO of ALTA, said that this alliance will help ALTA members stay at the forefront of innovation and technology to “scale efficiency exponentially.” In addition, he indicated that they will be able to streamline services such as purchases, refunds, cancellations or insurance collection, among others, through the use of blockchain and smart contracts.

All ALTA member transactions can be carried out through the same network, automating all processes to offer better quality services to customers.

As reported by BeInCrypto, one of the most innovative proposals that TravelX offers its clients is the tokenization of E-Tickets, through which they convert electronic tickets to NFTickets, which can be exchanged between any operator of the blockchain network . These new tickets have already been successfully tested and launched through the Spanish airline Air Europa, which is also part of ALTA.
